Look, I've ruined more shoes on boat decks than most people have owned. So when somebody tells me their shoe is waterproof and non-skid, my default setting is skepticism. The DryRun men's shoe actually backs it up.
Built on a running shoe platform with legit arch support, this thing grips like it's angry. The manufacturer says the secret is DUREVA® — a synthetic polymer-rubber-like compound with FISHOOZ's Starliner tread that channels water away from the sole. I tested it on my boat and our pool deck, which is basically a slip-and-sue lawsuit waiting to happen. No drama. The hybrid compound sole is shockingly light — lighter than standard rubber — so your feet aren't dragging anchors all day.
Inside, the molded PU sock liner feels more like a soft fabric than plastic, and it's fully perforated for moisture wicking. Will your feet stay bone dry through a full day of fishing? No. Nothing will stop condensation in a rubber deck shoe. But the DryRun keeps exterior water out where it matters, and after several days of hard wear, there's zero funk — the antimicrobial treatment actually works.
The mottled blue finish — I'd call it ocean camo — looks boaty enough for the marina and clean enough for Costco. At $119.95 from fishooz.com, they're a solid buy.
